It's odd that you are getting cuts riding on the road.? Are you hitting broken glass, or can you tell what is causing it? I have rode over stuff with my reae tire making a very loud pop and wondered how I did not puncture or tear it, but I have yet to have a torn tire, or even a flat with...
I bought the 9.8 XT Fuel with the nicer bits. Have pulled them and selling if you are interested in upgrading anything relatively cheaply, comparatively. Like carbon bar/stem combo, fork, carbon wheels...
I have the Fuel, and keep it on eco turned down as low as it will go, most of the time, so for me, its a gradual transition. It is fun turning it up and accelerating up a hill!! Haha
I am all about a ziptie and macgiver'ing something, I wonder if there is large enough cable wrap to make a couple loops and look slick, like a solid wrap...at least a ziptie won't show up much on my smoke frame. Haha

Reading thru this thread, the first thing I did when I got mine was use small wire wrap on those wire/cable to keep them out of harms way. I need to keep check on it. It could be vulnerable.
Otherwise, I will say this bike is exactly what I was looking for in an ebike. I keep it in Eco 99%...
Haha. Mtn bikes are one thing, ebike and electricity, electronics are another. I am quite the dummy on that and not afraid to know my limits! 🤣
I have not dig that deep into a mtn bike shock, yet. I will do an air can service, but let the fsctory guys handle it beyond that. Big thing is...
Interesting. Which brand shim did you use? I bought a Cane Creek one and mine is perfect and stayed put perfectly for its first ride this eve. My Bonty did not go up and down quickly either. IDK why, I was hoping to not have to swap it out. I also installed a better quality cable, which may...
The lever was an improvement. The Bonty Elite I would assume to be a good post, it was just hard to actuate. The angle and shape of the lever was not good. I experienced a bit of what you speak.
Heck, you can get a Transfer post new for what it costs to service one. I bought another just...
I have been using the light action WT on my other bikes for a long time. So, I moved it over to my Fuel. No more light action. The Bonty post is hard to engage even with the light action. Solution, I bought a shim and put my Fox 200 mm Transfer on it and all is golden again. It was wearing...
I am in the US. I don't mind shipping across the pond, but it could be more than one wants to spend on shipping. I was thinking about half of what one can be bought for. Can PM me for further discussion if interested.
Picked up my first ebike last week. Am in NC also. I spend most of my time in eco, still learning what the bike is capable of, distance wise, but it is fun in the other modes. I am on the fence about keeping my normal bike. I guess time will tell.
But, I came here to give some perspective...
Better ride today. Had to try it. Stock tires must be really stiff, or combination of stock bars, shock, and tires. Much easier on the hands and shoulders. DVO is placeholder till my Fox gets here.
