I think he said they were caught out a bit & didn't even have a wheel ready as he punctured near to the pits & came in quick but it did all look a bit casual, I agree.
I recently changed the front wheel bearings on my normy Lapierre Zesty, not seen it before but they were marked LLU. I looked them up & it denotes a bearing with a sealing lip on one side for higher sealing & intended for use where one side of the bearing is exposed to the environment. My...
My view of it is it was just a racing incident. Koretzky turned across Pidcock & came into contact with his back wheel. Look closely & you can see his left foot becomes unclipped which cost him the race. The booing wasn't very Olympic but I'm sure the gold medal makes up for that.
I have wondered about fitting them above the bb area I.e. between the junction of the seat & downtube & linking a standard crank/bb set up somehow. This would look stupid, add weight, weaken the frame & raise the CoG & generally not work but would lift them away from the ground. I'm available...
Wouldn't normally trouble this thread with XC racing but I've bunked off work to watch the Olympic mens final & my lord that was exciting. Pidcock punctures halfway through, ends up a minute back, which my DH tuned mind can't comprehend & fights back to the end of the final lap where he &...
In my defence, I'd been down the pub & shouldn't have been cycling. Nevertheless, a perfectly navigable barrier jumped out in front of me, unprovoked & threw me to the ground 😂
If it's in warranty, I'd make it the LBS's problem, that's what warranties are for after all. On the tech side, the cassette slides onto the hub splines precisely, so it's not going to be that. On Shimano cassettes, the smaller gears are separate from the larger ones & fit on the hub with...
Just for clarity, Bontrager are owned by Trek, so Trek bikes of all shades come loaded with Bontrager kit. There's nothing wrong with Bontrager stuff per se but a bike for £3k is always going to come from the factory with lower spec kit than one for £6k This is true whether it's Trek, Spesh...
One of our mates has a bottom of the range Powerfly four, covered in Bontrager parts. In about two years, it's had a new headset, front wheel under warranty due to bearing failure. It has cup & cone bearings, so once the cone becomes damaged, it's effectively the end of the wheel. It's on its...
Does anyone know if the Kiox non smart remote is the same unit across Kiox/Nyon? Reason being is a I need a new one & Merlin have a Nyon unit in stock but not the Kiox one. I'm aware they come in different cable lengths but are they otherwise identical?
I've taken my motor out a few times with a straight T40 but it definitely feels scary loose & I've trod very carefully. Time to buy the right tool I reckon.
