Didn’t follow your path but swapped between my brothers Nukeproof Giga (base spec) and my custom KSL and the KSL (motor off) still rode/peddled better even with a 1.5kg deficit.
Something like a lightweight Levo SL build would be a great alternative to an analogue bike. You will most likely...
Friction alone is fine. My Ohlins coils are all like this.
If it concerns you put a couple dots of white paint on the coil and threaded body to see if they move.
You can run a Levo shock extension which is 12mm shorter and run a custom 242/70mm shock for 200mm travel rear.
I ran this set up with 29s front and rear and was magic! The 200mm front fork works well too but it does slacken out the bike a bit. Not an issue for gravity and realistically not an...
You wont regret 29er rear. Also I found turbo 100/100 No difference in battery usage compared to my KSL. As in within a couple percent with both my brother and I swapping bikes mid rides. I only rode turbo though.
Overkill? No it’s not.
If you want plush suspension (get a coil) and the ability to mow down chunk while still being able to navigate tight switchbacks (albeit with pre thought) get a KSL.
If you want a poppy, nimble, versatile bike get a well sorted (read quality suspension) Gen 2 Levo SL, it...
The ones I rode felt no different to my KSL, apart from maybe a different tune. Possibly a more consistent/ smoother power delivery where as the Kenevo punches harder and then dies off ever so slightly. Definitely a lot quieter as I rode them side by side.
Logging the amps and volts the KSL...
Can anyone who has ridden both Gen 1 and Gen 2 Mahle motor tell if there is a difference in power as the two Gen 2 bikes I have ridden have no perceptible difference over my KSL. If anything my KSL is more punchy down low.
I have now been told by two shops that they found the same thing.
I used a Sicomtb Kenevo FF rear guard I had lying around. Wasn’t a perfect fit but has done the job to keep mud away from most of the linkage. Tire’s are 2.3 with room to grow
Thanks Zim for the shout out.
Really simple answer is if you have mates with FF that love turbo stick to that.
Otherwise KSL for everything else. It’s an amazing bike. If they can up the nm a little more that would make it the perfect bike.
