OMG ive just spent 4k on a EMTB- Rise user experiences please

What roof system do you have? My Thule stuff tops put at 20kg. I reckon I can get my Rise to 20kg easily enough but I have a severe dislike for sticking it on the roof at that weight. Even my hardtail at about 13kg wobbles around a scary amount.

    RS Lyriks for ebikes

I'd say that jumps and drops are in the low speed compression range. Ignore sag. Set the air pressure to give you the small bump compliance that you want and dial in lsc to add support under braking. Run hsc wide open. Hsc is resistance to harsh impacts. Hitting a rock or big root at speed...

    Garmin deals.....

Yeah, I paid the £26.99 for the pro subscription. Purely for the OS maps and ability to plan routes using them. The Pro+ doesn't have anything extra that is of benefit to me really. You get Harvey maps which are great but only cover national parks and the rest of the extras are Alpine maps and...

    Garmin deals.....

Ha, I'd freak out just trying to follow a line. Beeline Velo 2 is about as simple as it gets I think and a whole lot cheaper than a garmin. Doesn't do much in comparison though. https://global.beeline.co/products/beeline-velo-2 Not so much a line to follow, basically just an arrow.

    Garmin deals.....

Are you planning to use it for route planning? Navigating on the fly? I fancy a 530 for following a route when I'm out. Plotting the route or downloading a gpx to my phone and sending the route to the garmin is the loose plan. Phone with OS maps for a back up if I need to find my way. I'm...

    Shimano 4 pot caliper

Anyone got a 4 pot shimano caliper kicking around? I've found a cracked piston on mine and all the fluid fell out. Not while riding thankfully! I'd be happy with either a faulty caliper that I can scavange parts from or a complete working unit. Deore level or above to ensure...

    Tyre sealant

I think that's filling the inner tubes with slime rather than tubeless. Slime tubes are excellent but it means you're still running with inner tubes though. It's a good half way point but tubeless has more advantages I think.

Power button issues in the mud?

Cheers everyone. I can't quite understand why there isnt a dust cover over the button as standard. I already have some frame protection tape, I'll go with a bit of that over the top for the time being.

    Carbon Bars

Very true. Tilting the saddle nose up a few degrees can work wonders! It won't always help but it's a lot cheaper than new bars/stem/grips. My hands are always happier when my saddle is too low. It takes a bit if work to find a simultaneous happy place for legs and hands.

Power button issues in the mud?

A good point... Rise Alloy with the power button on top of the motor housing.

    Carbon Bars

Yeah, that's a good point. If you've got a stem with a wide clamping area, you might struggle to mount a controller or phone mount. I've got a RF Turbine (I think) stem which leaves plenty of room for gadgets.

Power button issues in the mud?

Anyone else had this yet? Stopped for lunch on a particularly wet and muddy ride. After eating a sarnie that was somehow gritty and muddy just like everything else, I was ready to get going. The bike had shut down after 10 minutes (or whatever) of inactivity. Brushed/ smeared a load of mud...

    Carbon Bars

I have a set of Oneup carbon bars on my hardtail. Used to get really sore hands/ arms and the carbon bars made a huge difference. My hands used to hurt for a few days after a long ride but that went away with the carbon bars. They don't feel flexy bouncing around but seem to make a...

    Tyre sealant

I use Stans. Have done for years. Seems to work well and doesn't dry up inside the tyre. You can get a complete kit that will come with new valves, tape and sealant. Your rims might already be taped. Mine were (Orbea Rise), meaning that you would only need valves and sealant. Some tyre/...

    Broken chain on the trail.

I had a clear out and rearranged the tool pouch I carry in my pack. I had a 9 and 2x 10 speed quick links in there! That's an unnecessary 7 grams that I've been carrying for ~10 years lol

    Broken chain on the trail.

I have these Tyre levers that double as chainlink pliers. Always used to get by with a small folding plier type multi tool but had to remove the chain one cold and rainy day and could not get the quick link apart with cold hands so went for a proper solution. The only time I've ever tried to...
