My cockpit.
Rigged for night riding after much goofing around with various mounting scenarios. This one seems to be working well. I use this Oxbow Voyager 2100 lumen on my motorcycle helmets as well. I bought a PNW stem with their Go Pro swivel mount for the light mount. Puts it in a...
Bit of a bait and switch. Same battery and connector for all the TQ bike brands coming on board? Maybe you can get one from another brand for a better deal? Just thinking out loud.
I tend to get a little devious when it comes to problems like this. Perhaps a hose clamp around the cap that gives you a lip to help pry against the hub?
Finally got around to putting on my Ride Wrap "covered" kit. I guess I had expected some pieces that were designed around all the specific questions you are asked when you order it. I got a generic kit with very few clues with shapes that don't particularly match well. Cleaned the area as I...
Pretty easy test to find play. Put your thumb on each joint and pick the bike up. Try once from the frame to the spacer on the shock, then try from the spacer to the eyelet on the shock.
In a previous post I documented all the play in the lower shock mount. The Igus bushings on the lower shaft eyelet are interference fit on the Fox. The only clearance is the hole in the frame and the bolt outside diameter and the bolt OD and the shock spacer. Total is about .005" which feels...
Another member was looking at Better Bolts for replacements in Ti. I sent a product request to BB to have them look at making or modifying the Santa Cruz ones they already offer for the EXe. $31 for a set for the SC.
Forgot to mention my one big complaint with this bike. I have a Timber bell that is otherwise brilliant in that you can turn it on and off when you want. It hangs down below the handle bar and the lack of any steering stop on the bike means when the bars get away from you that bell goes...
No battery removed clip nut or BB sleeve for me. I was rather surprised at how little I did get. A charger, a receipt, and a quick start manual. My Decoy came with an amazing assortment of tools, manuals, suspension tokens, and a pump.
Starting a list of parts needed- thanks
I have done all my baseline rides at least once or twice now. At the settings I am using I have plenty of range. The power is surprising me as well. I don't use boost much but when I do its more than enough.
I have the Fox suspension from the 9.7 and its stroked. The 150mm Rhythm comes...
Really confused. The bike industry has not used loose balls (on a cone/cup) for years on higher end components. You have a sealed bearing (inner and outer race with balls in grooves with a rubber seal on each side) For five individual balls to get loose is almost impossible. A rubber seal...
If the manufacturer is smart they will list all the requirements up front as 'outs'. On a high level they list total vehicle weight of 300lbs, a '160' fork (no axle to crown height given, which would have been the smart way to spec it) and 205-60 rear shock. Clearly hacking the software or...
Agree 100%. Once the lock ring is secure the only thing I am able to replicate is the low power ~20 watt, very muted, 'flutter'. I think this was wrongly termed 'grinding' which is red flag word that I don't think is what's going on at all. Seems like the internal clutch needs a certain amount...
The really tricky part of bashing into things at the BB is how the load gets distributed into the bike. The frame is just an open shell on E bikes and the motor (and plastic cover) forming a stressed member into the frame. Its ugly and a distinct possibility of damage should you do it. I...
I violated my one change at a time rule. I stroked both ends and changed to a Oneup bar and Ergon G2 Fat grips all at the same time. I can tell you those grips are cheapest suspension on the planet though. Bike feels different but I don't know what's contributing what.
I have not warmed up...
Took the bike to the dealer. Guy puts it into the stand and agrees that it is the lower shock mount, grabs a wrench and cranks on it. I tell him to back it off and put the 15Nm spec on it first, then we can creep up on higher number. We go to 16Nm and its still rattling but a hair better. Go...
