It's like I said though. Brits aren't used to it and the heat here is more humid. I find it very debilitating. I have climbed in California in hotter temps but it simply does not feel as oppressive as it has been here.
It don't think this solves my problem. I want to shorten the distance between starting to pull the lever and the lever biting i.e. bring the lever nearer to my fingers in the rest position. If I adjust that screw it simply moves the whole the whole thing in and brings the lever nearer to my...
I may be wrong but I would have thought that in the event of a crash it would be better for the unit to be able to come free. It should be tough enough the only risk I see is that it may be lost in the undergrowth.
This what prompted my post. It seems logical to me to still be able control the motor without the display in those gnarly downhill situations, where lets face it, the display is a little superfluous. Sensible and possible may of course be mutually exclusive. It would be interesting to know if...
I'm not sure what you mean having not seen it yet. Do you mean the screw that fastens it to the stem?
Can't help but wonder if it smashed specifically because you had it attached with a lanyard?
I've got a Bosch Kiox display/controller on order for my Orbea Wild FS. Not sure if this is a stupid question or not and I cannot find any reference to the issue. If you disconnect the display unit does the controller still control the motor?

After some further research and hearing about nightmare installs I've decided to buy the Bosch Kiox unit and pay for the fitting with an Orbea dealer. £40.00 fitting charge which doesn't seem too bad.

Can't decide. Which would you go for and why? I've been looking at Rhino boot liners vs the Evoc bike cover. Both cost about the same although I'm currently favouring the Rhino. Hatchbags get good reviews but cost twice as much and you need to buy extras to get them to provide the same cover as...
There are a couple of problems with this heat in the UK. We are not used to it and it's tends to be "muggy" heat. I've rock climbed, which required a fair amount of walking, in the USA, Europe and Turkey in higher temperatures but it didn't feel as oppressive and debilitating as this does...
That may be so but at any given moment it's either a mountain bike or it's not. I'm not being serious, it's just a play on words and light hearted banter.
