eMtb weight and lower back ?

I understood that could be treated as trespass and therefore a civil offence. Am I wrong?

eMtb weight and lower back ?

What are the circumstances that some of you find yourselves having to lift the bike over fences and gates? That suggests to me that you are riding footpaths which, to the best of my knowledge, should not be ridden in the UK. Am restricting myself unnecessarily by sticking to bridleways?

When do you don your full face helmet?

Don't count on that. I'm 73 and over the last couple of years I've cut back on the climbing and skiing (after 55 years) and increased the mountain biking. I have more minor mishaps mountain biking than I ever did climbing or skiing. The thing with climbing is that the consequences can be more...

When do you don your full face helmet?

My crashes tend to happen when I'm going too slow rather than too fast i.e. I spot a line then either hesitate or change my mind. Next thing I know I'm off the bike. Happened the other day and I hurt my ribs so now I'm even considering an armoured vest.:)

eMtb weight and lower back ?

I never notice the weight when riding the bike but then I'm not a particularly accomplished or aggressive rider. In some circumstances the weight actually feels like a benefit as the bike can feel more "planted" than a normal MTB. I'm thinking here of cornering and small jumps. I do notice it...

    Extra long boot liner

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a boot liner that provides all round protection with the back seats down. All the ones I've looked at clip onto the rear seats and leave the backs of the front seats and the rear doors exposed. Al

When do you don your full face helmet?

"ALL your rib injuries??? Do you wear a vest? I'm considering it. Many years ago I broke 2 ribs, amongst other things, in a climbing accident. I wouldn't wish it on anybody but at the moment I'm only suffering mild discomfort. I'm hoping it doesn't stiffen up overnight.

When do you don your full face helmet?

It's knowing when to stop armouring up and reaching the right compromise. I was wearing FF, elbow guards and knee guards but, wouldn't you know it, I fell on a trail that I've done several times before and managed to crack a rib. So now I'm looking at armoured vests. I don't think I could wear...

    Bosch Kiox retro fit

I've heard tales of people losing the display in a crash. It is possible to secure it permanently with a screw but I think I would prefer to keep the option of removing it so I've backed it up with a lanyard:

When do you don your full face helmet?

To be clear I have stated what my parameters are for wearing FF and to be doubly clear my decision is NOT influenced by what others think at least not in any meaningful, practical way. Accordingly I'm not really looking for advice but rather it's academic interest in why others decide to wear...

    Bosch Kiox fixings

This is my current solution while I decide if I should fix with a screw.

    Bosch Kiox retro fit

Not ridden in anger yet but so far very impressed. You can see lots of information and you don't have to take your eyes off the trail. If I were Bosch I would dispense with the display element of the Purion all together in order to achieve a low profile mode changer.

    Bosch Kiox fixings

I've used a Garmin lanyard for now. It's elasticated and you can hardly see it. Can't decide which will be best however, the lanyard or screw. The advantage of the lanyard is that it's easy to remove the unit.

    Agreed. Apologies to Gary.

When do you don your full face helmet?

That's a strange reply to the question I asked. I wasn't looking for personal advice, I already have a FF and I only care a little bit about what people think but thanks for taking the time to respond.

When do you don your full face helmet?

Whats that saying? You don't stop because you get old, you get old because you stop. Or words to that effect.

When do you don your full face helmet?

I had a serious climbing accident in 1969 that resulted in my being hauled off in one of those huge yellow rescue helicopters and taken to Bangor hospital.

    Bosch Kiox fixings

I've just added one to my Orbea Wild FS. It has a magnetic securing method with an optional screw fixing. Although the magnet feels quite strong I was wondering how many people supplemented the magnet with either the screw fixing or a small lanyard. And perhaps more to the point what are peoples...

When do you don your full face helmet?

It's undoubtedly a dangerous activity although I suspect deaths are rare. Having said that on Tuesday there were two serious accidents at the Forest of Dean within a few hundred yards of each other and in the same couple of hours time frame which required a helicopter evac. It does make one...

    Handlebar Jack

I may have to reconsider. The Kiox is fitted and it needs more ground clearance if the display is not removed and the controller is a weird shape which is also quite high on one corner. Why they couldn't make it like the Shimano I don't know. Low profile and unobtrusive. The polystyrene pipe...
