That sounds like a design flaw, and if so it would have done it right from the start. Why would it only start doing this recently ?
I think a return to bike shop is the only solution. There is still a month left on the 2 year warranty.
I don't know what to do if it's related to the motor - return to Bike shop ?
Could still be something else though
Headset ? Would more likely to be creaking while moving over rough ground, not just specific to pedalling, if I'm right ?
Can rule out the front wheel - swapped it with another wheel from my Stumpjumper - the noise still persists
The drive train is relatively new - full replacement in September and has had light use since
I get loud creaking sounds coming from the cranks. The noise is coming from both seated and standing pedalling. The higher the torque going through the cranks, the louder the creaking. It is very loud. It can still be head in a noisy environment. e.g. Wind. Road Traffic.
Possibilities -
Seat...
Can't be arsed doing that every 3 weeks. I might consider it if I get an error code and if the weather is warm enough to be messing around with small bike parts. I also have the issue of not having a compressor.
I don't share Steve Jones' skill on the techy climbs.
While I prefer climbs that fill the barrier between being too hard on an analogue bike but not too difficult for an EMTB to clear, I find that it is difficult to find too many of these.
EMTB's can ride up stuff that normal bikes can't, but...
I use Turbo mode on boring road climbs and fireroads.
I can't wait to get a boring section over with as quickly as possible.
I'm like "This boring fireroad must end!"
What you ride is what affects things.
I know loads of folks who ride Full Susses on routes that I could do on a Gravel bike 90% of the time.
Not really proper MTB is it ?
I heard someone say once that if you aren't smashing rims then you aren't doing proper Mountain Biking.
There is a hell of a lot more to go wrong on EMTB's than Motors. The motor if anything is no less reliable than most other parts of the bike, just more noticable when it is not working 100% well
I have 24 month warranty on my Turbo Levo. Only the motor and frame have longer.
The bike has spent about 3 months in the bike shop with various E Bike specific issues over that time. There has also been further downtime due to mechanical issues.
Talk about running down the warranty.
Ah damn, it's such a shame that I would have to pay £15 to get this Bolt. It really does not appear to be available anywhere else. I really think it's not a standard bolt I could get from a fastner store.
Warranty runs out at the end of May then. If the weather is decent in the Spring then I'm going to have to make the most of this bike. Might be the last chance to ride it before it becomes a white elephant due to all the high upkeep without full warranty support.
This bike could be expensive if the battery breaks. £1000 aren't they ?
TCU's also aren't cheap are they, neither is labour charges on fixing problems with the wiring.
Even worse if there are problems with the frame.
As an owner of a Turbo Levo 2020 it is coming up towards the end of the first 2 years.
Has anyone found out if the extended 4 year warranty applies to everything or if it is just specifically the motor only.
Will they continue to warranty damage to the wires / frame / battery / TCU for four...
I need some help with this screw. It's the exact screw in the diagram of the original post.
I've rounded it off to the extent that it's only a matter of time until I won't ever be able to unscrew it again.
What type of screw is this, where can I get a replacement ?
UPDATE
After 6 months the bike shop replaced the chainstay by warranty but put no protection in place to prevent this from happening again
I bought one of those Rubber U Challels (Black Rubber U Channel Edging Trim Seal 10mm x 4mm fits 0.5mm - 2mm | eBay)
I have just checked the bike again...
