    What’s that chainsuck plate??

Hello there. Is a 430 reach too short for 171cm??

Love that joy of bikes video, really enjoyable and interesting. I’m 5’8 and my mate is a bit under 5’10 but he has longer legs but our arms are about the same length. We are both so much faster on my medium Trek Rail with 40mm stem than his medium 2020 Merida eone sixty with 35mm stem. In fact...

Trek Rail with Fox DHX2 coil

I agree with Hobnob. I’m a reasonably fastish rider and my tuned DPX2 at my 85kg weight is exceptional. No need to drop 500 notes on a coil. However, the smashpot coil conversion on my Lyrik RC2 is the absolute dogs bollocks and rides loads better than my mates top of the range Fox 36, despite...

    PSA: Trek Rail chain guide

If you break yours (or your mate breaks it when borrowing your bike...) I can confirm that a reasonably cheap replacement, off ebay, fits just fine! Deckas, but likely sold under alternative names. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/232503427938?var=531820755242 £14 posted. Decent price, decent...

Knock-Block failed - Trek Rail 9.8 carbon frame damage

Thinking about this, all MK1 Rail's came with RS Yari/Lyrik forks, Zeb only came out end of 2020 so the Trek Engineers/Designers would have 100% known that in the event of a crash, even a fairly mild one given the weight of the bike, once the knock block failed the top caps would damage the...

Knock-Block failed - Trek Rail 9.8 carbon frame damage

Slight correction for you: the Zeb’s clear on a large and the Yari/Lyrik hit on my medium. I’ll be buying a spacer too!

Just picked up a 2021 Trek Rail 7...first ride and big concern

That’s an impressive failure!! If the shop is hours away I would buy a replacement calliper and fit it myself or use an LBS if you’re not confident to do. minimal cost and hassle plus the quickest solution. You can’t put a price on riding more! I’m very surprised at the original shops response...

Knock-Block failed - Trek Rail 9.8 carbon frame damage

hi there, well Trek showed no interest in taking responsibility for a design, therefore product, failure but they did offer me a replacement frame at cost. This was nearly a third of my original purchase price so not really a goer. In the end I had it repaired with carbon fibre epoxy filler then...

Trek Rail upgrades, what have you done?

Aha, no problem. That’s impressive going low setting and mullet. I’d barely make 100m I reckon!
