You can’t get a boot mounted ebike rated rack. Not yet anyway.
I’ve decided to get roof bars and Thule something’s once I’ve figured out which ones. Need one for the ebike and one for a dirt jump bike.
First proper ride. Wow it’s different. I know I’ve gone from one extreme to the other but Jesus. It’s not just light and rigid and uncomfortable but unstable and loose. And tiring to ride. I did 3 miles of jumps on the little loop going round and round and I was knackered, more than I was doing...
Holy crap. This thing is light. And hard to pedal! But jumps like a thing that jumps well.
When the rain stops I’ll head out properly and share a video.
Double and triple check. I’ve found the Park Tool checker can say the chain is anything from perfect to wrecked depending upon how you hold the back end of it.
If it’s still going in easy, new chain. Gives you an excuse to buy more tools.
My wife is still wondering why I needed an electric...
I do but only to check for damage or things that may need maintenance. I clean the mud off when it gets too much, normally once a week. And then every second wash I’ll do a deep clean and degrease everything then re lube and polish etc.
I lube the chain after every ride though.
I’ve bought from Tredz with no issues at all. This does look shoddy as hell though.
I’ve returned items before no issues. Don’t panic, you’re covered legally on this. Reject it, send back for refund.
Do you have a torx bit that fits in? It’ll bite. I have Allan keys that only grip on the corners to stop this, they work well.
What’s on the other end? Show a photo of that side. I can’t imagine it’s done up silly right but if it is local heat will help, and you could try an easy out.
Bought myself a decent stand, and more gloves as my current one are 15 years old and kinda see through.
Regarding the superbike vs downhill mountain bike, I’d have to think more but as somebody who has been riding superbikes for a fair while including racing them, while some things are the same...
I think it’s nature’s way of saying you need to buy an additional bike for when this one needs another chain.
Or nuke it from orbit, it’s the only way to be sure.
You cleaning and lubing it? Not changing in extreme climbs? Has the rest of the drive chain been checked? Alignment good? Not using super cheap chains?
@Gary thanks. I can, in fact naturally do squash jumps. But I’m keen to get more confident in the air so have been purposefully not doing it as much. Larger jumps exist but are drying, I’ll try them next week.
If I pump more is the aim for more height but still making the landing? So go up not...
Nothing exciting at all just needed to get out of the house and decided to test the camera. Will point it up more in future.
Current focus is getting comfortable in the air. Any help or advice welcome. @Gary i know you’ll have some brutal critique :)
Regarding the washing, I use the hose and have no issues. I use it on the sprinkler setting though like heavy rain, and use a brush to take off the mud. Takes ten minutes and looks new when I’m done.
A nice maintenance stand, and some spare pads just ordered. Brake cleaner, silicone spray, lube, and chain cleaner being ordered in a minute.
Then ordering another bike to keep this one company.
Oh, roof bars for the car so I can get some bike carriers and take my son to a jump/pump track.
