Levo SL Gen 1 Official Levo SL Thread

After looking for a CF SL and having several deals fall thru I think I've found one. I'll know soon enough. It's a 2021-2 Redwood color expert carbon medium, 146 miles, perfect condition, weighs about 39.25 lbs without pedals and with tubes. While it does come with dpx2 and fox 36 I really...

    Highest Mileage Steps E8000 Motor

Yeah seems to be dependent on the frame and maybe tolerances..I have heard the same from others.

    Highest Mileage Steps E8000 Motor

I wonder how much of this early death is water and mud? It's very dry here in SoCal usually, I never wash or hose my bike and when there is water out there I really make a big effort to avoid it. It's a pain but maybe that's what it takes to make the e8000 last. I wonder if the ep8 is better...

Levo SL Gen 1 Buying a used Specialize Levo SL Expert carbon

Yes on further reflection I agree. Found another one with a few scratches on the back triangle but plum color carbon, not expert with some nice upgrades. This one is not registered either and original owner is a bike mech who agree to fix the receipt and registration for us before I go see the...

Bike sizing, ape index, reach, stand over height, etc.

Yes the sl is 66 deg head tube and the Focus is now closer to 64.5-65 but running 51mm offset which is what the sl has as well. The Focus FOLD suspension has a tendency to blow thru mid range and then not use the last 15-20mm of shock travel, especially with a lighter rider like me. The 2021...

Bike sizing, ape index, reach, stand over height, etc.

Thanks. I've recently cut my bars down to about 750 because I have narrow shoulders and 780 was way too wide. I move pretty good but a broken collar bone 3 years ago hurt my mobility a bit. No arthritis or made knee/elbows. The focus standover is sort of variable due to the high stack height...

Bike sizing, ape index, reach, stand over height, etc.

OK, I admit I am no long 5'8" at age 72. I am officially 5' 7". Stretch is only 5' 4" or a negative ape index of -3". Inseam is only 30". Stand over on my medium jam2 is "painful", lol. Medium mullet with 2.6" tires and 150mm forks gives me 1205+mm wheelbase, std long 457mm stays and a seat...

    Jam2 - 5000 miles later!!!

6000 miles on mine and bought new in 2019, 2018 Jam2 plus C model here in the US, discounted to $4200. Similar track history as you, mullet now with 150mm Rockshox Lyrik Ultimate on the front and DVO Topaz 3 on the back. All bearings tight on the motor and zero electrical/motor issues too. I...

Levo SL Gen 1 Buying a used Specialize Levo SL Expert carbon

Today I was going to drive 150 miles to pick up my used 2021 Specialized Levo SL Expert. I was very excited about this but wanted to insure I had the remaining 1 year plus warranty on the battery, motor and TCU. A failure of those is very expensive. A trip to my local dealer (took two trips)...

Levo SL Gen 1 Official Levo SL Thread

Amazing trails! We have Laguna Mtn which is great but not on a par with what you have. My local trails vary but mostly pretty dusty and unshaded too. Lots of challenging rock gardens, switchback etc that I can ride to right from my house. But when it gets wet a lot of it is clay like and...

Levo SL Gen 1 Official Levo SL Thread

Yes max two year on all Specialized components from date of purchase so nothing additional on suspension, brakes, derailleur etc. I think the frame would have a lifetime warranty to original owner for instance. The other items, like your said, are tested and more wear and tear items too.

Focus owners that also ride Levo Sl

Any fellow Focus owners that either also ride a Specialized SL or that have outright switched? I'm looking at getting a 2021 Levo Sl Expert carbon. This one comes withdpx2, fox 36 Grip2 forks, 200mm brakes front and rear and is going to cost me $7300., perfect condition, transferrable...

Levo SL Gen 1 Official Levo SL Thread

Thanks. The bike I rode was a Levo Sl Carbon comp, stock but large. It was a 2020 and so it had the Rhythm 34 and dps shock which I also had on my Focus. For my weight they are OK but a bit harsh. I love the Lyrik and while I was considering the Yari (slightly lighter) glad I got the Lyrik...

Levo SL Gen 1 Official Levo SL Thread

New to this SL section of the forum but I do post a lot over on the Focus section. I currently ride a 2018 Focus Jam2 C, mullet, DVO shock, 2021 Lyrik Ultimate, 45 lbs, 6,000 miles now but motor is still tight and hardly any battery degradation (I have a DIY extender I use a lot) etc. It's a...

    Improving balance

Thanks. I ordered some. I did see it's not water based so it may stay put longer and the reviews say as much. Oxy 10 seems to help heal it to a point but the pea like bump never seems to dissolve completely. At least not in 20 days but doesn't hurt either. I am dying to ride but promised I...

    Improving balance

I was riding about 50 miles a week the past year of so but saddle sores that just won't go away have made me cut back and finally take a month off the bike (that's up Jan 1st). Wish I had jumped into mtn bikes in the 80's when I saw it taking off here (rode trials in the 70's) and I'd have 40...

    Improving balance

Yes it's bad habit and have to remind myself on the trail constantly to break it. Now I'm fighting saddle sores and some sciatica too (new for me). Lots of stretches are helping the sciatica but off the bike for 20 days now because of one sore that continually comes back. Doc didn't want to...

    Improving balance

Sounds like you have really great balance! Mine has improved doing my figure eights on my sloped driveway. I'm sort of grounded from saddle sores since Dec 1st so starting to work on balance standing up. I rode observed trials years ago and much of that balance translates to my mtn biking...

    Improving balance

I too struggle with this wobble thing and I echo all this good advice especially looking ahead not down. Practicing track stands are a big help for me too. I try to do tighter and tighter figure eights in my sloped driveway to practice. A 35mm stem is great if your bars are perfectly...

Removing and repacking Focus Jam/Sam2 battery

Since the Focus Jam2 just uses 3500 mah (highest rated 18650 cells) made my LG replacing with the same rating (10A) should not be an issue. Taking everything apart is the real issue. You can't use the 5000 mah Tesla 21700 cells because they just won't fit. They other issue I've heard is that...
