Buggabairn,
I'd like to add further to what Shjay says in regards to suitable forks for the Rise M20.
You don't mention the year of your Rise M20. For conversation purposes, let's assume it's a 2021/2022 Rise M20. Check the fork section of the "Rise Blue Paper" owners manual for the 2021/2022...
Tubby,
The SW-E7000L(L = Left hand side, R = Right hand side) plugs into the EW-EN100 junction box. It's an easy fix and requires no modifications. You simply need to pull the old lead wire out of the junction box and insert the new lead into the junction box. About the only hassle in the...
Nuckaman,
I'm going to assume by your question that you are asking if grease would work equally as well as Loctite 638 on the splined interface where the linkage arm attached to the upper pivot axle?
When I originally began servicing the upper axle on my Rise, I tried applying grease on the...
The 2023 Rise has a new rear shock yoke, linkage arm and upper pivot axle design that is different from the older 2020-2022 Rise models. Unlike the 2020-2022 Rises, Orbea also added axle seals to the upper pivot axle to keep debris out.
Hopefully the new design will stop linkage arm/axle...
Super-Claret,
I have several tech articles on servicing the Rise upper and lower axles.

Nuckaman,
Loctite 638 should only be applied to the splines on the upper axle where they mate with the linkage arms. You want to use 638 sparingly, i.e. only a few very small drops and then spread it around with your finger. 638 has a long working time, so you will be able to apply the 638 and...
Oliver, that's great news on the new linkage. I do find it interesting that the dealer got his parts much faster than you. It takes me three weeks to get parts here in the USA.
In regards to the bearing retainer compound. I do suggest using some form of retaining compound on your upper axle...
Excellent idea taking it to the shop. It should be covered under warranty. There's no reason for you to have to deal with this kind of problem. Hopefully the shop has a spare bolt which you can use and avoid waiting for new parts. Show the shop the thread and explain that others are having...
I heard vile rumors that Canadians are hard on their Orbea’s. I didn’t believe the rumors until now…
Well, I’m at a loss on this one. The linkage hardware bolts are soft aluminum. It really doesn’t take much to jack them up or deform them. Ask me how I know. Fortunately, you can buy a new set...
Ryno,
I had this happen on several occasions. You are correct, the spacer is catching on the threads. You will need to relieve pressure off of the seat stay in order to remove the bolt. To do this, you will need to do the following:
1) Remove the rear shock from the shock yoke. Wrap the shock...
Damien,
My buddy and I both bought 2022 Levo Comp Carbons. We modified our Levo‘s by installing 170mm ZEB forks and Fox X2 rear shocks. The ZEB has a stouter frame fork than the Fox 36 Rhythm. I like the coil like feel of the Fox X2. My buddy weighs over 260 lbs., and crushes jumps and drops on...
Tribanas,
I’m sorry. When I originally replied, I assumed the SLX chain you bought was new and I did not catch that the SLX chain you purchased had 116 links.
Brand new, a Shimano SLX chain will come with 126 links. In most instances, the chain will need to be shortened by removing a few...
It can be a pain in the ass to get everything to line up. I had the same issue with my Rise. It seemed that the linkage on my Rise got a bit harder to line up as I piled miles on the bike. I know of other Rise owners such as Florida Dan who owns a Rise Hydro. Dan had issues with lining the...
Wired,
You do not have to drop the motor. Here is a three part series I wrote on maintaining and modifying the Shimano brakes which come on your Orbea Rise. In Part # 2 of the series, about mid way through the article, I discuss using your old brake hose to pull a new brake hose through the...
For those interested, here's the Reader's Digest version.
In October of 2019, I had a bad get off and I came down hard on my right foot. This caused my ankle to fold completely sideways. The Tibia exited out the side of the ankle and it took everything with it, including the main artery, nerves...
Here's a picture of me in the E.R. with a compound ankle dislocation. if you look closely, you can see my lower leg bone sticking out of the side of my ankle. The ankle eventually died and it was replaced with an artificial ankle. I switched to eBikes during my recovering from the injury...
Oliver,
Awesome response.
In my younger days, I worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Caterpillar. I used to pack outer bearing races and bushings in dry ice to cool and shrink the items before attempting assembly. The dry ice worked extremely well. I'm not sure how dry ice would work...
Proneman,
I’m sorry that I didn’t respond sooner. I’m in the process of remodeling my garage workshop and I haven’t had a lot of spare time to answer questions.
I’m going to post your response in red font and reply to your questions and observations in black font.
I found out, that both...
