    Charging EP8 from 12V solar

I've seen a documentary of a simple setup in rural china where they capture methane for cooking. It's just a concrete pit that has their sewerage and other compostibles. The pit has a plastic cover over it with an outlet which goes to a big plastic bladder in the kitchen. They apply pressure to...

    Charging EP8 from 12V solar

Could you supplement the solar with a little wind generator like the yachties use?

    Flat pedals recomendtions please!!

One vote for the dmr v12. I don't know if it is better than what others have recommended - they're the first serious flat pedal I've owned. I went by reviews and popularity on wiggle. Also the colour goes well with my bike. I've lost a couple of pins, through strikes. For a while now one of my...

Levo Gen 2 Remote suspension lockout for 2021 Turbo Levo Comp

I never understood why this was needed, or liked, on a fork. Does anyone lock their fork out or ramp up the compression damping?

    Eddie Current tyres

What a bugger. The rear ec looked like my perfect tyre - I just like the tread pattern and the heavy tough carcass. If it is this much trouble to put on and off; that changes things.

Fixed a creak and now my front chain ring rubs the guard

Awesome - that's the only bike stand I have; a big piece of cardboard on the ground . Good luck.

Fixed a creak and now my front chain ring rubs the guard

I've put things back together the wrong way quite often. It's a shit to have to go back through it again - but at least you're familiar with it now. Take your time. I hope someone here can give you the info you need.

    Complaint to the manufacturers

There's a nice hole right through the crank, and it's a strong point. I think the problem is that stands aren't being designed with this ideal strong point in mind.

What tyres? The Ultimate Tyre Thread

I was wondering about that too - never heard it referred to as that. In a way it isn't a good description for that style. Road riders also have a sort of separation when they are hanging off the side of the bike in a corner. Motorcycles admittedly, but off road riders stay on top and push the...

What tyres? The Ultimate Tyre Thread

I'm similar re isolation and I understand the extra burden riding alone has. It is much easier to do things with someone else - the fear factor goes up a bit when you're alone. If you're methodical though, you still get confidence. I also like to get in a ride with some distance - for me it is...

    Ultimate Commuter Tyre

I'd just try it tubeless - people used to go tubeless all the time supposedly with non tubeless tyres when tubeless was still a bit of a novelty in mtb world.

What tyres? The Ultimate Tyre Thread

I mostly ride alone, have had more than my fair share of offs, and I'm slow to progress, but I do progress . If something scares me I look for something similar and do more of it - every ride. I'm riding tracks now that I wasn't even 1 month ago. I focus on the detail, tell myself to move...

    brake pad fell apart

I've never heard of this happening before. Luckily it was pretty much at the bottom of a descent. I heard some tinkling and felt something strange. Pulled up and my rear lever had nothing - just free play. I thought the caliper was off or a catastrophic leak - nothing. Then I thought I couldn't...

Orbea Rise EMTB - 16.2KG Superlight

I like it. I have only used boost once on my bike for fun. I'm usually on the 2nd lowest setting (eco on medium). I'd order it with bigger rotors (as big as they offer), and bigger, burlier tyres. Although I do like aluminium for an easy life, and mullet. Still not my ideal bike, but close.

gee, some people can do whatever they can imagine. I've never seen that before - hanging on with the front wheel while the rear is floating nearly horizontal!

    Eddie Current tyres

it sounds strange. The only thing I can think is that the bead is sitting in the wheel well somewhere, which would have the bead opposite sitting high. Have you tried using soapy water on the bead and rim? It might help the tyre to seat in the rim where it is supposed to. Just had another...

    Puncture prevention

For me, tannus in the rear, tubeless on the front. I'm not as impressed with tubeless as everyone else seems to be - I've had some pretty ordinary punctures that were only fixed with a tube. I don't seem to get punctures in the front - so tubeless works there :ROFLMAO:. I also found that just...
