Best option? So much criteria, so little money!

Thanks👍🏻. I’ve been looking and actually leaning towards that. I really want to go check for size. I’ve been ok on my small bit but might be happier on XS. It’s just finding somewhere nearby that I can go try

That’s true, and an advantage of being smaller. I’m just under 60kg. (Bet your daughter has more energy than me tho - I don’t know how kids keep going 😂)

No, I don’t expect to when I’m in the saddle. I’d need to try some but presumably it’d make the whole bike that bit higher? It’s for when I come to a full stop and off the seat and foot/feet on the floor.

That’s interesting, didn’t know that was possible. How come the Cube feels more powerful if you’ve had the Rise tuned up?

    Really appreciate that explanation, thanks!

Best option? So much criteria, so little money!

Thanks, that’s generous 😀. I’ll have to look into that. From what I read, changing to 27.5s increases chance of pedal strikes? The frame isn’t built for them? As to further modification, we’re reaching my limit of mtb knowledge! But could have a chat with the bike shop.

Yeah good point. I rarely use turbo, mainly stay as low as I can power wise. Just up it on the steep hills or when I’m tired. I’d have to try one and see really I think. It looks like they only come with 29inch wheels though.

Hi all I could do with some advice/opinions on my next purchase if possible! I have a Trek Powerfly 5, it's the only ebike I've ever ridden and I impulsively bought it without masses of research. It's been great though! But, if anything, I wish I'd got the XS instead of the S, and I'm now...

    Fitting a rear Mudhugger

Thanks both, I’ll try that 👍🏻😀

    Fitting a rear Mudhugger

My latest purchase for my Trek Powerfly 5! I got the small as my bike is a 27.5er. The sides of the Mudhugger are parallel though and the seat stays obviously not. Do you just force it outwards and the cable ties hold it? I thought maybe it’ll be constantly fighting to go back to its original...

Oh yeah, that’s why I went on the red there, I’d heard that about it. Thinking of trying the red at Dalby next though, need to watch some videos of what it’s like. As long as I can get safely down, past or around obstacles, I’m fine. Don’t want to slow others down either.

I don’t know, just the description of off-piste sounds like it would be difficult!

Ah mine doesn’t have that. I’m on. Trek Powerfly 5. I take a Powerbank for my phone.

I’ve only got the free version, not sure I’d I have that option. I’ll have to have a look. Don’t mind paying if it’s something I’d use a lot. When I’ve used GPX files I use Komoot.

    Beginner to natural trails

Thanks. I’m in West Yorkshire. Group rides would be ideal really. I do blues at trail centres (plus red at Pines) but not confident when it’s rocky or steep, or very muddy. Or when it’s really narrow🫣. I like flowy and nice scenery.

    Beginner to natural trails

Hi all I've been riding my ebike for about a year now and been to a variety of trail centres or done some local rides, with and without others, but I want to branch out now. I was looking at routes on Pedalnorth which look good but I'm not confident about finding my way. I can download gpx and...

Not sure on dropper post sizing

Ah that’s great, I’ll try that. Thanks!

Not sure on dropper post sizing

Hi all I’m looking at getting a dropper post for my trek power fly 5. I’ve searched the forms, and found reference to sizing but want to double check as mine is a small frame. I’m looking at the Brand X Ascend post - 31.6 x 125mm. It says minimum insertion is 90mm but I don’t think I have that...

Hi, I’m new. And have questions!

thanks, it’s really helped to hear all different views. Ive been taking my time and trying different bikes like you say, and if the Trek sells in the meantime, so be it. I’ve ruled out some due to size. I’m finding I have limited options not just due to budget, but because of size and minimal...
