These bikes are designed to be ridden off road, so will get the odd chip and scratch here and there. I try not to look at them, as I like to look after my stuff, so touching them in will at least make them less obvious.
Ah, ok. After the MBR review of the 160, they’ve had loads of enquiries, so I was lucky to get this one, and get some stuff thrown in.
I called about 6 shops, and they were all quoting 6 months or more for one.
Hit the button on the Whyte. Just need to wait for them to apply the frame protection, fit new handlebars, and change the display to a Kiox, so delivery will be next week.
Good call. I’ve ordered some regular satin black mtb touch up paint, so will do a sample before applying. Quite why Cube won’t tell anyone their paint codes is a mystery. At least I can buy touch up paint for my new bike, direct from the manufacturer.
Here’s a couple of updated pics. I’ll get some close up detailed pics; if anyone wants anything specific, let me know. The shock bolts will be changed back to black ones this week, as SRAM lost my bolts when they serviced the shock.

And the cheapest! :D
I’ve got the Kiox mounted centrally on my Cube; it’s out of the way, and very secure in a crash, as I’ve tested it! I’m used to activity tracking on the Bosch app now, so don’t want to take a backward step. Being able to monitor calories burned and see the routes I’ve done...
Went and had a look at a Whyte E-160 RS this afternoon, and was very impressed. Just need to research it a bit more, but will probably bite the bullet on Monday.
I really wanted to see the Trek Rail 9, for comparison, but there’s no stock anywhere, with nothing coming for around 6 months.
Edit...
Good to know, thanks. I’ll give them a call tomorrow. There’s a Whyte dealer in Guildford that claims they’ve got stock, so I’ll call them in the morning as well.
