I really found it difficult to use as GPS compared with a Garmin Montana that Id previously used on a motorbike, I also found the Garmin cycle computers difficult to use as a GPS good as they are as a cycle computer.
Admittedly Im a bit thick but I struggled with the Garmin 830 and 1030 the Garmin Montana, which is a bit large for cycles really suited to motorcycles, worked well and was easy to use, I also tried a Wahoo Roam which I really struggled with the best and most user friendly gps I used on a cycle...
There is a difference between pavements beside roads that are owned by the Highways Agency or the Council and Footpaths that are owned by whoever the landowner is and which there is a public right of way over.
Motorised vehicles currently have access to about 2.5% of the unpaved network, cycles share 20% with horses. Ramblers have 100% but would still like to see other users share reduced further.
About a month ago I was cycling through a village on the way to a bridleway on my Levo doing circa 14mph from the pavement a little girl about 4 or 5 years of age ran out immediately in front of me her head was handlebar height somehow more by luck than skill I managed to miss her honestly there...
Im fairly new on the EMTB scene but am a long time motorcycle trail rider, motorcyclists have lost access to lots of trails particularly since 2006 and the pressure to vanquish motor vehicles totally from the unpaved network is growing all the time people have become more intolerant of others...
You can and onto Wahoo I've done this and struggled with the Garmin and the Wahoo the directions are much clearer and easier to follow using Komoot on your phone.
My traumas with my Garmin 1030 have been well documented on here so on Sunday I try riding a new trail using my newly acquired Wahoo Elemnt Roam due to poor route indication I went off route at the beginning and was asked if I d like to be redirected, Yes Please so I followed directions that...
Took delivery of a Wahoo Elemnt Roam today so another learning curve but I'm so annoyed with myself I can't get the Edge 1030 to work I will have to stick at it until I've got it to perform so going to be riding about with 2 GPSs hoping 1 of them works.
Having come to the conclusion that the Garmin Edge 1030 is no good as a GPS on a mountain bike can anyone suggest an alternative I use a Garmin Montanan 610 on my trail motorbike but its a bit large for a cycle and the mount which isn't very good on a motorbike is even worse on a cycle with a...
These replies are not what I wanted to hear, I have used a Montana 610 before on my trail Motorcycle but its a bit bulky and the handlebar mount is dreadful I bought the 1030 for its GPS not really interested in the cycle computer function.
