I am looking to do same thing with my Fox 38s.
Up hill performance is not my main concern, but feel the E 160 could be slacker and have more travel/reach out front For DH performance.
I measured the space for the 2021 Merida E160 shock axle = 40mm.
And it’s axle is 10mm diameter.
So go to online shop…
choice of 40mm or 39.88mm

do I want it jammed in or a 0.12mm loose?…which sounds still pretty snug?

I am getting a new fox float X2 rear shock.
I want it to be able to go on both my Merida E160s.
2018, and 2021 models.
They have slightly different diameter pins at the lower shock mount.
You can buy different sized ‘fox shox rear shock mounting reducer kits’, but I cannot find any...

I have used ST Unlocker in Australia for over two years on my original 2018 Merida E160 and have had no problems with a warranty motor replacement etc.
Never has the shop mentioned that I had it reset to US mode for the 32km/hour maximum speed.
Now I have bought the 2021 E160 with the EP8 motor...
