The Old Ghost Road is on our list and is about the only reason we are keeping our non electric MTBs.
Just got a spare battery for my e160 but think logistics is just too hard for this ride.
Just adding to the external battery pros.
Just ordered a spare Shimano battery which my partner and I can share on longer rides. The BT8010 battery is relatively easy to transport in a back back.
Obviously have not done it yet however what we will do is one starts on the spare battery until...
To me a bad point is the fact that batteries cannot be taken on planes with a bike.
The other is a manufacturer issue. Why do they not have smaller batteries for smaller rides or what I really want is a range extender in addition to the main battery. A smaller battery would be easier to...
Hi Chris
First day had one bar left to Blackfern Lodge however I was motoring along. My partner and friend both had used only one bar some 40kms however they had switch off for a lot of the ride. ( why buy an electric bike ? ) Same the next day at 50 kms.
So no problems at all.
More Timber...
Weekend away doing one of my favourite trails in NZ. The Timber trail (85 km)can be done in a day or as most do over two days staying midway at various accomodation.Lots of amazing bridges to cross. All on Merida e bikes, e one sixty,e one twenties and big e seven.
Hi davarello
We did Queen Charlotte track November last year. A bit steep in bits however at that stage we did not have ETMB.This is what you can look forward to.
Got some really good airfares to Queenstown from Auckland NZ for our holiday weekend however meant hiring bikes. We hired some Moustache hardtail and today tried their full suspension.Fanstatic day Yesterday in the Queenstown back country.
Hi Ron
We stayed at Northstar in May while on holiday and went mountain biking out of Truckee. Really nice part of the world.
The only issue we had was that the day before we heard on the news that a mountain biker had been killed by a cougar (not in this area) but that spooked us as we are...
Yep have watched the videos of the Old Ghost Road. Looks amazing however not sure you could do it suitably on a ETMB due to no power to recharge batteries.
Talking of batteries EVO cycles have the E8010 battery on sale for $719.99. (To those out of NZ that is £367 €407 ) that’s a good price...
Well as per my original post my friend (who said he would not be getting an ETMB prior to riding mine) has gone out and brought 2 Merida E one Twenty 800 models for himself and his wife. Unfortunately all the 2019 models have had a price increase.
The 2019 models are black and red in our market...
Yep I am getting to about 30 or 31 when it cuts out rather than 32km/hr on my e one sixty (display).
I believe NZ does not have a speed limit rather limited by power ? However as we are such a small market we get either the standard 25 or 32 km/hr that other countries have.
We drove to the South Island last November and did the Wilderness trail and the Queen Charlotte track with a break at Abel Tasman. We ran out of time in Nelson to do Dun mountain trails but will do it next time. Put the bikes in the boot of my car with the rear seat down.Plenty of room for...
Hi Chris
I think you will be fine for the Timber Trail, well I hope so as we will be doing it soon.Like electric cars there is range anxiety in the beginning when you are unfamiliar as to your real world distance. However unlike cars you can still pedal. Wish Sharmino had a lighter smaller...
