We live in the mountains of Idaho and expect snow staring this Week. Is it safe to store our new bikes in the barn or do I need to keep them from freezing?
I am currently riding a Zen hardtail that is a step through with a bafang m820 and rohloff rear axel. It is a very heavy bike (close to 80lbs). I want to go to a full suspension but need it to be a lot lighter and at least as powerful. Cost ceiling for this bike is about $7,500. I ride in...
The new bike would be more for playing around in the local area, I think. The rear rack is a plus, but I often ride into town with a backpack when I need to hit the local store for a few things. We did the Oregon coast a coupe of years ago on Salsa Vias with BBSO2s and 52v batteries. We...
How much does your Z1 weigh? My Zen weighs in at 76+ lbs. My fargo with the Bafang and battery is at 56 lbs. Also, can you put a rear rack on the Z1? I dont want to carry more than maybe 15lbs, but that can be water, lunch and a change of clothes on a two day ride.
I guess I am still pretty new at this, even after building about 7 Bayfang BBS02 and BBSHD bikes. I dont understand why you wanted the M600 bike vs the M620. Thanks for setting the idea of just building one, it is really something I will give a lot of thought on. I have a top of the line...
I looked at that bike when I was searching for a new bike this Spring. My only drawback was one of weight. It looks like a great bike but my wife bought a Zen which is also very heavy. I should be wintering in LA this next year and will not be very far from the Luna store and will try out the...
Great input! Not going to ride black diamond single track at my old age, so enough travel to ride unimproved dirt and gravel fire roads and easy mountain bike paths which are dirt and often rip rap. Power while pedaling should be +1,000 watts. Cost is pretty open, just bought my wife an ebike...
I am currently riding a Salsa Fargo converted to an EMTB with a Bafang kit. I would like to go to a full suspension bike with a more powerful motor to help this old fart climb some of the steeper hills and I am tired of the hard tail jarring my back. Any suggestions/advice is appreciated!
I am not sure how to reprogram the bafang. You are right in that the motors are great on relatively flat road but on steep hills you need to keep the cadence up. On reason to consider the change to CYC is that they use torque sensors.
I plan on taking the Bafang 1 KW off my Salsa Fargo hardtail and replacig it with the CYC X1 PRO and a 52 volt or 72 volt battery. I have asked CYC tech support about the pros and cons of the two different batteries. Meanwhile the bike is headed to the shop today as it has been parked in the...
I live in a pretty rugged mountain area of Idaho and have built a 750 watt and a 1000 watt Bafang kit. Neither of them had the power to effectively pull some of the very steep fire roads. I have also purchased and sold a few commercial emtbs. I have been looking around at other bikes and...
