In my experience, Ive had no updates to my software on my 2020 Rail 7(gone from 12 speed, down to 10 speed,11-46 cassette) due to Covid parts availability, bike has had a new motor in Jan 2023 no mention of a software update on my receipt.

Just an update on my Rail issue, spotted a potential crack in my frame a while back, had a look at this forum to see if theres a issue with these frames.
Bike is a June 2020 Rail 7, developed a electrical issue with the bike 22/1/23, so i took it into the supplying bike shop (Edge Cycleworks)...

i have 2 buffalo mountain shirts (one green &one black) they are absolutely the best bit of kit for outdoor activity, even done mtbing in them! material is stronger than you expect, easy to look after, wash n dry in no time at all, ( you could probably wear it straight out of the washer)...

I’ve got one of these , not Mtb specific, but the cut is fab , large hood to fit over helmet, strong enough not to snag on branches and shit, under arm zips to vent, long at rear to keep ass dry , classed as workwear, so you claim VAT back!! If it’s strong enough for tree surgeons, must be ok...

Ridden the bash a few times, and you always get the odd walker, who don’t acknowledge you, ignorant, or just a pain !! If the walkers get their way and it stops the Bash being a lakes classic, then bikers need to meet up in Keswick and on mass ride the section of road upto to ashness bridge...
I downgraded my 2020 Rail 7 a while ago partly do to me thinking emtb dont need a 50T granny,
and partly due to Covid, no stock of parts!
i took mine down to deore 11-42 10speed, which is dandy, parts are cheap and plentyful,
Zee shifter deore mech, HG freehub was the dearest thing ,but now...
