Hi experts, I feel that my Fathom could use another higher gear and would appreciate some advice / feedback re the pros and cons of increasing the pedal sprocket size to reduce the speed of my pedalling. I understand that this is very doable but would love to get advice from the forum, especially implications on the motor wear and tear.

Thanks

What size is the current front chainring? Also what brand is it?

Does it have 4 bolt fastening? If its say a 32 or 34T you can easily change it to a larger 36T. No added wear on drive train etc

Hello again, I took my bike to the shop to arrange for a larger chain ring but was advised that the 36 tooth ring I have is the largest option available for the Yamaha motor. Someone suggested using a spider instead of the solid chain ring supplied by OEM however I have also seen comments regarding offset issues. I would appreciate feedback from the members wh know about such stuff.
Thanks
Mike

You could change your cassette to an E thirteen, the bottom cog is a 9 tooth.
