From what I’m understand it’s the charger that can overheat and cause fires.
I set my charger on a stool with a laptop cooler underneath.
I plug the charger and cooler into an electric strip.
I plug the charger into the bike THEN I flip the power switch on, turning the charger and cooler on.

Mine should last a good while based upon responses.
I’m in SW Florida and have a 5 mile 20 minute route that I ride M-F.
Plus I alternate that between 2 bikes, a Denago City 1 and a Lectric XP3!
Let me preface this by saying that, in order to reach as many as possible, I am posting this in a few forums!
I know I’m not the only one here in several forums and, without failure, when I do post a question in several forums there’s always some yahoo complaining about it.
So, in advance, get...
Also turned 70 in October and haven’t been riding a year yet.
It was the hottest summer on record here in SW Florida and I rode BY 9am.
Now I am really enjoying this time of year.
Flat residential riding and occasional trips to the store, but we do have wind here, but these e-bikes cut right...
I’m an above average anal person and the research I’m going with was the fact that it’s not worth the trouble doing the 80% method!
Charge it full, unless it’s going to sit long term, then make sure it’s at 50-60%, ride it all you can, charge it at room temperature!
It has 3 lights on the battery, red, yellow, and green.
From the research I’ve seen, half of them say charging to 100% is fine, just don’t store it at 100%, some advise the 80% rule.
Basically, from what I understand, the 80% rule only brings minimal life to the battery.🤔
What is the device showing the percentage is what I’m asking. You are charging an e-bike battery but what device is that, that show the percentage in the picture?
