To your point about Magnesium battery enclosure. Have you considered different manufacturing/machining methods used compared to Aluminum? As far as I know, that aspect alone is significantly more expensive. Also, increased fire hazard, as Magnesium would burn in a battery fire.
Yeah, the low front end makes it a good mullet candidate. Seat angle be damned. Have a 170mm 29" Mezzer on mine. But I haven't taken it out since the swap.
I've recouped the parts already. Only an attraction point, not a line item to mark the bike up.
The funny thing is, GasGas bikes, as well as some Huskies, were given away by a dealer, with a purchase of a dirt bike :D
I got my $6k Fantic on sale for $5k in the end of 2021. Put $1.5k in upgrades on it. I have no bites at $3k currently. It's still on original tires. Maybe 20 charge cycles.
I wanted to sell it for a year now. Suspecting no one would buy a used eMTB, plus the collapsed market, I couldn't be...
They tear up local jumps, too. There is a trail that was donated by the motorcycle club to MTB riders. A couple of local guys built a sick half-a-mile long jump line. Dirt bikers respect it and stay off. But surrontards have chewed up all of the lips and smashed up the landings flat since they...
Swapped the internals between Expert and Pro. Everything is perfect. Pro air shaft is definitely nicer and lighter. And the Expert's open bath damper is more work to maintain than the Pro cartridge.
I've taken both apart, except for the air shaft on the Pro model. I can't push the shaft all the way in to get the cassette tool on the internal cap. For some reason the shaft hard stops about 1/2" from the end of the stroke. The Expert shaft went down all the way flush. This one doesn't. I...
It's still an amazing deal at $2700. Yamaha is definitely losing money at that price. If eMTB wasn't 1% of their business, they'd be closing the doors.
Just picked mine up. I bought mine in the first 24hrs after the promo went live. The website charged me $1,675 for Moro 7 and $15 recycling fee. Didn't believe it would go through. 2 weeks later the dealer called. I had to pay $50 for assembly and $25 for local bs. All in, it's less than $1800...
I love Brisker gloves. I have 6 pairs. Work great on the moto in the 35F-50F range. Though hand guards do block much of the wind. I would bump that range up 5F, if you're doing long and speedy descents on MTB. They are not below-freezing gloves.
