2022 Rocky Mountain Powerplay - Any idea how to upgrade firmware ?

@thbo I haven't kept up with the news on the upcoming Powerplays but, yes, the ebikemotion app is horrible and didn't like it. However, it did connect via bluetooth to my 2000 Instinct Powerplay BC. Also, I have no idea about the EOL (end-of-life) on the app or if it's compatible with the...

2022 Rocky Mountain Powerplay - Any idea how to upgrade firmware ?

i did some research several months back and never figured out the software since none of the local Rocky Mountain bike shops near me carry Powerplays and aren't equipped to handle e-bikes. I did find that you need a special usb cable called "Powerplay cable" (part number 1906003740) that plugs...

2021 Rocky Mountain Altitude won’t switch on

Power assist is a lot more sensitive with the 36t chainring.

Can battery and range extender be charge at same time?

for my rocky mountain instinct powerplay bc with the overtime (extender) pack, that's how i recharge both batteries. i've gotten lazy and have stopped removing the overtime pack off the downtube since there is a charging port on the side of it where I can connect the batt charger.

2021 Rocky Mountain Altitude won’t switch on

the chain length stays the same. Yes, the chain doesn't come off. I leave my Instinct BC in power level 6 for my normal riding and increase to power level 7 or 8 all the time. no issues with shifting or the chain coming off the chainring.

the "st" will be stamped on the chainring. you can zoom in one of my pics and you can see the "st" stamped next to "drop stop".

@Miscel76 you have to by pass the lower chain guide to use the 36t chairing. If you want to have the lower chain guide, replace the small jockey wheel with a regular skateboard bearing. the inner diameter and thickness of the skateboard bearing fits the black screw perfectly. but honestly, you...

2021 Rocky Mountain Altitude won’t switch on

@Miscel76 yup the chainring is just normal 104 bcd. i've been using the wolftooth drop-stop st 36 tooth chainring for several months now without issues. top speed is def faster. it also helps that i increased the amperage to 22amps using the MTT. be careful tho because it'll suck up a lot of...

2021 Rocky Mountain Altitude won’t switch on

@Common same thing happened to me (twice) on my 2020 Instinct BC. I think, the bike pulls a "Karen" and bitches at you when you smash on it. Issue only happened during the first 3 months. Since then, I've done several major upgrades (like wireless shifter, MTT, coil rear shock, 36T chainring...

    Shimano e8000 shortish crank arms

    1) less pedal strikes (I lean my bike on corners so this happened a lot with the 175mm) 2) faster exit speed during cornering (i can pedal out of a corners earlier) 3) faster cadence (this def increased and i can get back up to speed earlier) 4) more balance (when pedaling, the side-to-side...

Let’s Be Careful Out There - Cannock Chase Mugging

Dudes I don't know why it's like that but I encounter the same thing with motorcycles. I've been riding sport bikes for over 20 years but the unwritten rule is that you stick with your kind because the die hard Harley clubs/gents don't like "rice rockets". However, I do see that the younger...
