  • Will you help me to choose and build up a DIY battery for a M820 motor?

I haven't bought it yet but if you or anybody in the forum helps me I will definitely purchase this frameset Gravel E Bike Carbono | Gravel E Bike Carbono | ICAN Bikes and the rest of stuff to get the bike.

    Thanks in advance

With all due respect. If you know so little about ebike batteries it is not safe to try and build one. They are very dangerous. One mistake and you could burn down your house.

Using appropriate, good quality materials (cells/ pure nickel belt/ BMS/ appropriately sized conductors/fuses and connectors- there's no reason why you couldn't build yourself a decent durable battery.

    Research and take your time!

    It's totally doable!!

A 250W motor makes the task a bit simpler than for more powerful motors because the current draw lower (only 7-9Amps).

    Go for it!!!
Hey Mike, FYI, I just scheduled an Orbea Rise H30 demo ride for next week at a LBS.💪

It seems the M820 bikes could be everything the Rise is for a lot less. I like building own bikes and did not like buying a pre-made bike. Time moves on also and things get better and lighter so the lastest and greatest becomes yesterdays news fast. But given the prices the Rise still looks good compared to the Lumen or Forestal because they are so much more expensive for nearly the same bike.

    💯 still sticking with CEF50 myself...but I think the Shimano EP8 RS may be a decent 1 to 1 M820 comparison.🤞
