Anyone fitted invisiframe to the matte colour frame (moss) ? Did you use baby shampoo and water, isopropyl mix or both ?

My LBS did mine before I took delivery. They didn’t do a brilliant job tbh, so I’ll ask how they did it, so others can do it differently!

I’ll probably redo the bits I’m not happy with, using baby shampoo and warm water. It’s really not a difficult job, with the right tools.

I use both. Super clean soapy water. Then foray frame with 99% ipa
Ok cheers, so I’m thinking use the soap / water to get it in position, then the ipa to remove access water from rest of the piece before squeegeeing it down ?

There are a few helpful vids on YouTube, but I kept it simple and followed the Invisiframe instructions when I did my Levo. It requires a little patience, but the results are well worth the time:

Doesn't the use of soap generate bubbles that then get trapped under the film?

I have not used Invisiframe, but other protective films. Water alone was sufficient, but once I got practiced at it, I didn't even use that.

No. RTFM

I apologise in advance as this is going to sound harsh but it genuinely baffles me why you'd comment with a useless anecdode about your ability to fit some irellivant frame protection film dry on a thread asking for advise about fitting another very specific product you've never even used.
You'd struggle massively and probably end up having to bin £75 worth of lazer cut adhesive film if you tried to fit invisiframe dry. Invisiframe comes cut to precise shapes for each and every frame correct to size and needs to be applied almost perfectly aligned/placed. Often to intricate curved difficult to work on frame sections. Preparation and fitting can be very time consuming and even in perfect conditions and following instruction to the word can still be a right PITA to apply perfectly depending on just how curved and intricate your frame design is.

@Gary ref post#10. I was driven by curiosity. I made clear I haven't used Invisframe so there was no option to RTFM. I provided a contrast to illustrate. All you had to do was to say that soapy water was recommended by the manufacturer and left no bubbles. Why you waste time telling me it was a useless anecdote baffles me, unless it fills some basic need of your own.

If every question someone asks is met with scorn or derision, eventually they stop asking. That is not a good thing. I can recall a few teachers like that when I was at school, I'm still crap at music and languages as a consequence. (Or is that another useless anecdote?)

I freely admit when I know I don't know, my danger point is when I think I know but actually don't, or maybe I'm almost there but not quite. Probably because I was told wrong in the first place, or just misunderstood. I don't deliberately tell people the wrong stuff. But as I say I am always happy to learn as I'm still relatively new to all this. Just tell me I'm wrong or that I haven't got it quite right; you don't have to load up the adjectives. Then tell me the correct stuff (which to be fair you often do).

No?
it's 2 whole minutes long bro and well worth reading/watching if you're even thinking of purchasing a kit or undertaking the job

All you had to do was to say that soapy water was recommended by the manufacturer and left no bubbles.
Only our German friend BAMBAM mentioned "soapy" water. a tiny amount of baby shampoo diluted in water to allow the film to be moved into place and allow any trapped air to be squeegeed to the edges is what is actually recomended. Which is exactly why I asked you to RTFM

If every question someone asks is met with scorn or derision, eventually they stop asking.
I didn't pour scorn or derision towards any question at all. I just answered your only question sussinctly.
I did then query the logic behind your obtuse and misleading reply before going on to explain in detail exactly why your reply was so.

I'm still crap at music and languages as a consequence. (Or is that another useless anecdote?)
Yes. That is pretty useless. Since school you've had 50 adult years to improve either if you really wanted to. You can't really hold a couple of long retired/dead teachers accountable for all those years. Only your introduction to their subjects. ;)

Just tell me I'm wrong or that I haven't got it quite right; you don't have to load up the adjectives.
Ok. I'm guessing "useless" and "Irrelevant" are the adjectives you have taken issue with?
"wrong" is another an adjective and would also be correct but it's simply not as descriptive. Language is a wonderful thing. Please don't be afraid of it and please don't try to censor the language of others when they have simply been using it correctly.
Then tell me the correct stuff (which to be fair you often do).
To be guenuinely fair here. That is exactly what I have done.

As everything has already been covered i'm merely adding to the conversation. This was one of the options i had considered, then after watching videos etc decided the level of patience/time wasn't for me so chose to pay someone else to fit it. Added to this i didn't have a "clean" area that wouldn't have been in some way contaminated by dog hair. I don't think it is an amazing job but they did say it wasn't a frame that they had much experience with fitting it to (i think they mostly work with trek). I'm still happy with the results and i'm sure it has saved quite a few blemishes on the frame already.

Fair play to anyone who fits it themselves, you have my respect.

Do it as Invisi instruct you. It's stated on the paperwork with the kits. 5ml baby shampoo with 800ml water. Clean frame with tar remover or IPA.
Invisiframe say use ipa and/or water mix in my instructions, the video only shows water and shampoo hence the question, no mention of using ipa to clean the frame, so your reply just adds to the confusion!!

Did mine this evening as per invisi instructions. IPA to clean frame (you can use tar remover). 5mm of baby shampoo to 800mm water to position pieces. It's a cake-walk! just boring!
