Thought I would make a quick post with regards my DPC241 display bracket failure / fix...

During a night ride last week (where the temperature was less than zero degrees) I noticed my display was not 'sitting' right and on further inspection found that the handle bar clamp had cracked through where it meets the display housing (it broke into 2 pieces on removal). The clamp is an integrated part of the main housing and hence you can't replace it

Still don't know how it failed as to my knowledge I hadn't contacted it during the ride so can only assume it failed from vibration / movement causing fatigue, made worse by the cold climate...

Good news is that if it happens to anyone else there is a simple fix 😁
There are 3-off screws holding a separate 'cover housing' on the back of the display and when removed exposes a small plastic cover positioned over a single treaded insert (made from brass) used to secure the allen head clamp bolt.

You can carefully tap / press out the now exposed brass insert and run a 5mm wide tie wrap through the hole left by the removed insert and then simply re-attach the back cover using the existing 3-off screws . I also added a small piece of mastic tape to the clamp area of the display casing to help it 'grip' the bar a bit.

Not the 'prettiest' of fixes and it may not last but it seems to be working and its cheaper than a new display!

Yup the plastic clamp shrinks in cold temps and if you have tightened it to suit in your nice warm garage, it breaks from being over tightened when the temps drop. The TSDZ2 level switch does the same, don't ask how I know.

Easily solved if you barely nip up the strap in your warm garage or you fit a bit of soft tape ( double sided bumper tape ) to the handlebar between the bar and strap to allow a bit of expansion and contraction. This has a bit of bonus as it stop the display rotating with a minimum tension on the strap.
