2021 EP 8 models

Hi all,

Canyon announced the new EP8 models will be revealed on a special event on 2nd of February.
Thinking of buying my first Emtb and Neuron On is on my short list.
Already tested the Focus Thron and Cube Stereo Hybrid 140 with the Bosch motor and I really liked them. A bit more the Focus.
I like how the Canyon looks and from the components point of view I think is better than the competitors.
What would you guys get from those 3 bikes? What improvements would you like to see on the Spectral on 2021 compared with the 2020 model?

I would be interested in the Canyon Spectral ON if they increase the Batt size to at least 625 Wh.....

I think they will increased it for sure to 630Wh. That was one thing that I didn’t like about the 2020 model (500Wh Battery).
The EP8 is not that much different from the E8000 from what I saw in some reviews on YouTube but the 630Wh battery will for sure make a difference.

Yes, same bike with ep8 motor. I’m hopping that maybe they will have also an aluminum frame model, not all carbon like in 2020. That would maybe drop the price to under 4K Euro.

My bet is 3900 for the new Neuron base model, 4700 spectral base model.
Very curious on the new Torque since it’s aluminium.
All brands increased 10% so don’t believe in cheaper prices then 2020

Wow. Didn’t expect that we will see the actual spec and photo before the canyon event.
My hopes of having a more affordable spectral on got shattered . I think the 8.0 model is event more expensive that 2020 8.0 model, 400£ more. It is specified in the article that there will be 4 models. Will they introduce the 6.0 model or will it be as in 2020 3 models + a wmn model?

I was admired my self when I saw the pic this morning on Facebook. I don't know, probably will be the same 4 models like 2020. That pic was taken from MBR magazine and posted on Facebook by another guy, not me. I'm still waiting for the official launch from Canyon on 2nd February.

But one thing is for sure, prices are increasing

Bought the magazine yesterday. Mbr has an iOS application where you can buy the digital version.

The YT decoy was the winner of the test even though it has the old E8000 motor. I checked their website and all the EMTBs are sold out. I’m pretty sure that they will also release the 2021 models soon enough with the ep8 or the Bosch motor.
I’m a bit disappointed that besides the motor Canyon didn’t change the bike at all from the previous year, not even the colors but they charge 600£ more. Also the EP8 doesn’t seem such a bit upgrade from what I saw in the reviews. They are taking advantage of the high demand that is currently on the market.

In the meantime Canyon silently increased 100€ on the current spectral On CF 7.0. Just one day before the new models are announced. Does this make sense?

Don't know but the Spectral On 6.0 2021 model is more expensive than 2020 7.0 model (at release date). They really take advantage of the market demand. Canyon is out of my list now. Will decide between Radon RENDER and YT Decoy 29 (if it will be release any time soon).

All bikes are going up in price, due to supply issues and rising costs in transportation of parts, if you can get hold of a bike at a price you like now I would pull the trigger, and there's also no point in comparing the prices to the old ones as we are simply in a different situation now, and those days are gone for the foreseeable future.
