Review: Hi Readers.

I have had this a week now and it is my first eBike.

Today was the big test, Iv been out daily on this, when i can keep the wife of it:eek:. Suddenly she has found a new love for cycling.

I have clocked up 120 miles and i really cannot fault the bike, the battery life is excellent, the ride silky smooth, the motor has a reassuring whine, but today i hit the mountain trails.

The wife decided to come so the plan was she would use the Haibike and i would use the manual and we could swap here and there.
This the first time she has made a summit, and never complained once, unbelievable but true.

In fact the bike and Bosch motor performed so well, she said whilst zipping passed me on a steep uphill section "hold my arm" and pulled me up the hill and thinking this was hilarious she pulled me up every hill for the rest of the day.

So 35 miles later, 3.5 hrs and a climb of 2495 ft mostly on slate chipping service roads for the wind turbines in the Dumfries and Galloway Carsphairn mountains the bike was class, absolutely faultless.

The only thing was when we stopped for a spot of lunch (seen on the stats by the flat line) I forgot to turn off the phone and flatted the battery.

And how did the battery do, 2 bars remaining probably about 10-15 miles in tour mode but we pushed it in Turbo mode most of the day and i simply couldn't keep up, Now looking to purchase a second eBike.

The route was great, probably one of the best iv done, great ups and downs, well worth the journey.

Thanks. Very interesting read. Mate of mine has got a Yamaha powered Allmtn Haibike which I've ridden a few times. Good to read that it rides well with the Bosch motor too.

One thing I don't understand: "Model Year: 2014"

This is definitely a 2020 bike. Why have you set the model year to be 2014 - a time when Haibike produced supremely ugly bikes?

Hi
For a reason I cannot explain when i posted the review 2020 wasn't an option on the drop down menu, that is why i put the year in the title.

At 46 and not the most tech savvy person I am not sure if was user error or just not available:confused:.

Book me in for a review e learning module 1 course whenever your want :D

Please get some decent mileage on it before giving a bike a 10/10 score - such cannot be called a "review", it's a first impression at best....

If you read some of the posts lately, people are under the impression emtb's only last 100 miles - so it's a full life review ! :)

They enjoyed themselves and it's already 10/10 for what they wanted. Someone else might have exactly the same requirements so it's helpful to those people. @Jay355 can always add to his review at anytime in the future. Be that good or bad.

I like the bike and I would struggle to give it a bad review, I can see your point that giving it a 10 after such a short term of ownership and mileage could seem premature but I am a cyclist not a journalist.

That said today when I’m usually sitting with bags of frozen peas on my knees the day after a big ride, today I wasn’t. I powered it up whooshed upto 16mph and smiled for the duration of the ride, clocking up another climb in the mountains and took on the head wind for 35 miles along the Ayrshire coast. Some might review it lower and no bike will be a one fits all’s but for me it surpasses my expectations and I’ll stand by my 10.
