Specialized Turbo Levo Gen 3 Alloy and Comp Carbon models just launched. They are much cheaper than the models launched earlier in the year.
Prices start at £5250 for the basic entry level with 500Wh battery. Next is the Comp Alloy, this comes with 700Wh battery and upgraded spec.
Finally its the Comp Carbon, this comes with the new TCU2 Mastermind with LED display. In Stock now at Berkshire Cycles!!

I’ll be honest with you Rob, I was saving up for one (of the belief that the mastermind TCU would be on all gen 3 models). But seeing the line up, I’m now contemplating to just go with S-works and have done 😅.
Still, I imagine that a lot of tall riders will be very pleased as the S5 & S6 is longer than the old XL.
Spoiler alert tall riders, grab them whilst you can cus you know the bigger sizes are the first to sell out.
Keep up the vids Rob 👍🏿
I hate to say it but $5900usd is not cheap.

It’s still ugly!
Carbon comp looks sic 😀
Ouch, madly expensive for what they are with really basic povo specs and an old 500w battery thrown in. Why not get a Reign E+1 with all the XT goodies and a less fragile motor?
This brand is looking like it’s cruising on yesterday’s laurels.

Completely agree, glad I didn’t wait for one of these now. Terrible spec for the money…even against brands such as Trek.
Rob if you were to toss a coin with levo s works on one side and Yeti 160e on the other what one would you wish for.
Did you have a chance to weight the Turbo Levo Comp Alloy ?
I’m also hesitant between this and Reign E+…
Would have loved to have seen the Alloy Comp with a 38/or Zeb and then I think the spec would have pretty much been on point in the current market at around that price
glad I didnt wait to buy Sam a gen 3 now..

I wonder which might give the best bang for buck in the 2022 range?

I think you might be right.. its a killer looking bike (I would have the yellow) and it it were full power, I reckon I might cave and buy one.
but then again I have liked ‘almost’ all spesh bikes over the years, which probably makes me a fanboy.. I even loved the kenevo X frame..

For sure. The price is beginning to look like a bit of a rip off. Especially when you consider what the non E equivalent costs. Add the battery, and motor and the figure increased by £2-2 1/2k, and no way just having electrical components adds that much.
And a rhythm fork with a pants damper (n)
Once you own one price matters for shit . If your worried about price the new rocky Mountain looks awesome for the price. I think 6000aus with zeb fork and nice shock too.

I disagree, because unless you are a mincer you’ll soon realise how woefully poor the fork is on the £6300 base model. So will be out shopping again for a £1000 decent fork. Then you’ll be kicking yourself as you run out of power way before all of your riding mates who all ride cheaper bikes with more range….so all you’d be focusing on is how much money you spunked on the bike.
i mean for me, I didn’t even like how the Levo rode
Up grading is fun, it’s what makes the world go round there are no bad bikes out there, it’s the ride not the bike.
So if you believe that bull shit buy the base model and bling the shit out of it now thats fun.

Maybe @SparkleHedgehog can add in “depending which side you look from”
Can I just remind people that in 2019 I bought a brand new base model Levo for £3400

It was probably better specced than this one too.

I genuinely love the look of these from both sides. It’s like saying a Ducati 916 only looked good from one side. Not true. It’s a work of art from either side.

I think strictly speaking, based on the way it will be used, it’s Mrs Doom’s new Whip and will be used to get him to do whatever she wants for the next 48 months/he rebels – which ever comes first.

I can’t see him rebelling unless she requests IKEA on a weekend or Salsa classes when he should be at FOD.
I just had my first ride aboard my new comp alloy 2022 turbo levo and for me it is an amazing bike. This is my first e-bike and I have nothing to compare it to,but I will share my experience. To begin I am 50, 6’2 and 215 lbs. I am an occasional rider, but been a mtb rider since 1995. I also had a knee replacement 1.5 yrs ago.
This bike has brought the joy of riding back for me. I just can’t dedicate enough time to riding to get back into shape enough where I don’t suffer, especially towards the end of a ride. On the turbo I found myself riding longer and faster. It simply made my experience more fun.
The bike is heavier than I think it was going to be, but this disappears on the trail and is very stable. It is a pain to load in the back of my truck. The motor is so quiet that it appears non-existent. I spent most of my time in the middle mode and very seldom used the turbo. But turbo is crazy fast. It took some getting used to the run-on that happens when you move the cranks even slightly.
I will probably do some upgrading to components such as bar and stem but for right now everything else seems quite capable.
I did struggle with the price, but currently nothing that I reviewed or could purchase seems as capable as the specialized.
I know there were issues with the previous motor; however my experience is that most often companies will go above and beyond to have a repeat of failures and I am trusting that this is the case with the new edition. Hope this helps!
I placed my order at my local LBS in late December and I’m told it should arrive at the end of February. I cant wait to saddle up on this bike!

Hey Rob,
Loving your Ebike video reviews. I’m currently in the market for my first ebike and there a great resource to compare what’s currently on offer.
However, as the average joe, I have a budget of 5.5k and I simply can’t afford the vast majority of the bikes listed in your best of 2022 video and I’m finding it hard to compare what I can afford.
Too often videos are comparing bikes out of most peoples price range and there hasn’t been a recent group test of affordable ebikes for a few years now. The last was MBR and that was done about two years ago!.
I also think that including the entry level gen 3 turbo levo in this group test would be very enlightening as no one has reviewed this yet.

I’m not sure about second hand ebikes personally. Even with a receipt and warranty I would unlikely find one with local dealer support and I know past turbo Levo have had lots of problems with the motors. Also not keen on the geo of the old ones either.
