Swinduro heads to Swinley Forest on 7th & 8th September 2019, in its 4th year the event promises to be an electric event for all things bikes. Over the past 3 years the Swinduro event has had eBike categories for riders; this year the team over at Swinley are investing even more into the event for eBikers. The Swinduro teams philosophy is that they love supporting all riders on all rides and ebikes are here to stay, they are passionate to make Swinduro the go to annual event for ebikes in the South.
The terrain is perfect for ebikes so we are looking forward to getting involved at the event and getting some times on the boards. One of our biggest EMTB Forums group rides so far was at Swinley Forest. We hope that we can make this one even bigger.
Fancy getting involved? Join us for the 20km Swinduro Event, EMTB Forums will be taking part in this. To enter, follow the link , it is £45 for the Swinduro entry. If you don’t fancy entering the race, no worries, join us for a social gathering, watch the enduro or night racing, soak up the entertainment and check out some of the other cool stuff that’s planned for the weekend:
The event village will provide:
- A range of bikes, clothing and components to drool over and buy.
Demo kit and a demo loop - Onsite camping
- Toilets and showers
- Street Food Village will include wood fired pizza, BBQ and vegan or vegetarian options.
- Beer will be on tap from West Berks Brewery
- Amazing coffee from Drover Coffee
- Kids events
We’d love you to join the ‘Swinduro’, but if you fancy it there are some others to check out too:
The Mighty Swinduro – (includes 4 additional night stages) – 25km – 14 stages
XC – hot laps against other ebikes
Dual Slalom – get involved with the fun on your ebike – specific ebike category
The Swinduro & Mighty Swinduro course takes in multiple sections of the forest and covers a 20km+ loop for the day event, with a further 6km for the night stages if you’re doing the Mighty; there is a special ebike only stage too for the Swinduro. The enduro format allows riders to be timed on special stages only. The joining sections are not timed so you can simply take your time and enjoy the ride. If you feel the need to stop for a brew, a chat or even a rest, it is up to you and will not affect your placing.
The Swinduro team also want eBikes to get involved across the bike disciplines so if you want to tackle the undulating XC course then compete against other riders on ebikes on the same course.
The Dual Slalom nods to the ebike scene in the UK that it is progressive riders riding ebikes and they too need to get involved with a dual against each other – during the dual you will be able to get runs against other ebikers – will they be able to get a time quicker than pure pedal power?
We can’t think of a better way to round off the summer.
