Fuel EXe Official Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Measured mine also with 7.86-7.87mm, dealer still waiting on reply from trek. I pulled out the bolt now and was surprised to see no grease at all, not even on the metal/metal contacts on the frame. Whoever assembled it in the factory also probably had a tremor or something, with the amount of...

Any clue where to get a properly fitting bolt? Don't have the possibility here to get something made. Service manual has specs as - Lower bolt, M8 x 1 x 60 mm. They link to this bolt in the trek shop. Confusing af, manual specifies 1mm thread pitch and for the bolt in treks shop specs say it's...

I'd certainly hope that it will get warrantied. Found this (#2,973) post - seems like this is happening due to cheap / wrongly sized bolts?! I'll see whether I can measure mine tomorrow.

Cheers mate. Will hit up my shop on monday (wasn't trek directly) and see what they do. Guess they'll probably file a claim with trek and then I have to wait. Also, it's a bit of a bummer with the paint chips on such an expensive bike, but I reckon it is just cosmetic damage for now. Question is...

A buddy of mine also has a 9.8 XT with the same shock. No issues, no paint chips. Kinda sucks, as I planned a ride for tomorrow.

Ah damn, any idea whether it was rockshox/fox & any hints what to search for? Nothing came up when I searched this thread.

Yea I saw a service bulletin for fox shocks, haven't found anything like this for rockshox though :/. What do you mean by 'same chips'? Yours also has some paint chips in that area? This is how the one side looks, after a single ~20km ride. There's already carbon visible in the top right corner.

Collected my 9.8 GX AXS today and went on a ride after setting it up. Rides super nice. However, I also noticed there was some knocking coming from the shock/motor mount. After checking I found that there's some play in the lower shock mount when lifting the bike by the saddle. The spacers are...

Pulled the trigger on a 9.8 gx axs, considering getting the ride wrap tailored kit. Question to those that used it - did you have to cut around the downtube protector, remove it or is the kit simply going around it?

Quick question, anyone riding without the remote, i.e. changing modes via. display button? Any hints how to best remove the remote / cable? Cockpit will look way cleaner when using AXS.

Aight cheers, not too much of a fan having to ziptie the battery dummy to the frame in that case. Guess I'll go with AXS regardless and just remove the cable so I can use the normal battery. Cheers

Hey guys! Quick question, since the prices are pretty good rn with the current 'TrekFest' sales and I'm about to pull the trigger on a fuel exe. What's the general opinion about the wired axs battery? I assume that I can't shift when I want to ride the bike without the battery?
