I would take it apart - it’s super easy.. and check that all 3 magnets are there.. if a magnet is missing that could be an issue..
then, unlike the newer ones they have removable SD50 cables.. so that could be easily replaced...bit at £23 or so thats a couple of ? so you wouldn’t want to do...

just bought a preowned emtb and the previous owner had replaced the SW-E8000 with another switch and added the E8000 switch to the pack... So over the weekend I thought, let's have a look at what this SW-E8000 looks like...

Ahh, so the battery makes the low voltage and not the motor itself - I would have just taken the battery voltage to the Motor and have its electronics sort out the required low voltage (less copper - less weight - less complexity (sortof) )

I've looked through the Shimano PDFs as far as I could find them... but couldn't find the answer.. does anyone know what the pins are and which is which - naturally we can assume that the two...
hmm converted that's £1500
display and switch will be around £300, motor I'm guestimating around £1000 and then the rest of the cables etc.. I guess would bring you to around £1500...
